Pastor's Corner
My dear parish family,
This Sunday, we celebrate the Baptism of Jesus, which marks an important transition from the Christmas season to the beginning of Ordinary time. In the Baptism of Jesus, we celebrate our own initiation into the life of faith. Through the process of being immersed in and out of the waters of Baptism, Jesus reveals to us that baptism is the process of dying to self and rising with Him. It is this cycle of dying and rising that makes Baptism truly a sacrament of hope.
I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you all for the beautiful cards, gifts, prayers and kind regards you offered to Fr. Carlos and me during the Christmas holidays. Your kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated. As your priests, we are truly blessed to be a part of such a generous community, and it is a privilege that we savor every day. Thank you for your continuous love and support of our pastoral ministry.
I am sincerely grateful to all those who assisted in one way or another to make our Christmas liturgies uplifting and beautiful. I offer special thanks to the liturgical ministers (lectors, ushers, greeters, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, altar servers, sacristans), those who provided us with such wonderful music and A/V support, those who decorated the church and gym and ensured that the entire environment was clean. You gave us an opportunity to treasure the mystery of Bethlehem right here in our worship space and we thank you very much! Finally, I’m grateful to all of you for your warmth and courtesy which continues to make our parish an attractive home for many, especially visitors. May God’s bounty be yours today and all the days of your lives!
God bless you and see you at Mass!
Fr. Henry
