Pastor's Corner

My dear parish family,

Today is Divine Mercy Sunday. Just as Jesus demonstrated in the Gospels, he also revealed to St. Faustina that, one of the most basic fruits of His Passion and Resurrection is the gift of God’s merciful love towards us. Each of us can gain access to God’s mercy because Christ, raised from the dead, has defeated the Evil One and his lure of sin. Therefore, the mystery of God’s mercy is intimately connected and grounded in the Paschal Mystery of Christ, his Passion, Death and Resurrection. That is why Divine Mercy Sunday follows the Sunday of the Resurrection. On this Divine Mercy Sunday, the Church implores us to place our hope completely in Christ by acclaiming the formula of mercy revealed to St. Faustina: Jesus I trust in you! I invite you to join our Divine Mercy prayer ministry on Saturdays and pray the chaplet when you can on your own or with your family.

I congratulate all those who came into full communion with the Church this Easter through the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. It was a joy to celebrate with them and their families as they became an integral part of our parish family. Let’s continue to pray for them.

Please note that we shall celebrate First Holy Communion on Saturday, April 18, 2026. I ask you to pray for these children that as they receive our Lord in the Eucharist for the first time, it will be a life-changing moment for them and truly an encounter of grace.

God bless you and see you at Mass!

Fr. Henry
