WE THE PEOPLE
One Faith, Many Cultures, One Parish Family
As our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, our parish will celebrate in ways that honor both our country’s founding ideals and the rich diversity of our parish family. We are especially blessed to live in Gwinnett County, one of the four major counties in our country that reflects the diversity of our nation. It’s named for Button Gwinnett, one of the signers of the Declaration. Because of the courage and vision of our forebears, we live in a nation where people from many backgrounds have found opportunity, refuge, and the freedom to pursue their dreams while sharing their God-given gifts. Given the diversity of our community, we hope these celebrations will help foster patriotism, gratitude, and even greater unity among our parish family.
Our celebration will be bookended by two meaningful dates: Independence Day weekend and August 2, the date on which Button Gwinnett signed the Declaration of Independence.
Beginning Fourth of July weekend, we will have special activities and displays in the church and Narthex on Sundays and occasionally throughout the week. We invite all parishioners to participate and support these events.
