“The community of believers was of one heart and mind, …With great power the apostles bore witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great favor was accorded them all.” Acts 4:32-33
For 2000 years communities of Christian believers have been witnessing to Jesus Christ. These communities have been persecuted, mistreated, abused, and many have offered their very lives all for the faith of those who would believe, you and me. Communities have been chased into caves, catacombs, basements, attics, and other hiding places but have kept the faith alive by trusting in God and encouraging each other in their faith.
Each generation, witnessing to one another about what God has done for them, has created a world community of universal (Catholic) believers that in 2007 number over 1 billion. Thru Jesus Christ, God made man, believers try to live a life set by His example.
Learning how to be a faithful follower of Christ is at the heart of most believers. Too many distractions of our modern life distance God and His love from us. The truly Good News is God is alive, He loves us deeper than we could ever love and He longs for our return.
This process is just one way to stop our busy lives, see past the pains and lies, and know God, not just experience Him.
So in the words of our Savior we too, invite you, “Come and you will see” John 1:39.
Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) retreats are held twice a year for men and twice a year for women.
