
THE GOSPEL JUSTICE COMMISSION serves as a communications link for the various ministries below involved in implementing the Church's social justice teaching. It also provides a forum for education and consciousness-raising, and identifies areas of concern and new possibilities for outreach by the parish.
THE ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY provides emergency food, shelter and clothing to parishioners and neighbors in need. Volunteer caseworkers help evaluate needs and coordinate assistance.
St. Lawrence volunteers provide meals for various NIGHT SHELTERS in Atlanta. Volunteers cook, serve a hot evening meal, prepare bag lunches, and stay overnight with the guests.
OUR HAITI SISTER PARISH COMMITTEE organizes communication, prayer support cultural exchange, and material assistance for our sister parish in Thomassique, Haiti.
THE REFUGEE SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE assists in the welcome and ongoing support of refugees who have found asylum in the U.S. and a home in our parish.
ONE CHURCH/ONE INMATE responds to Christ’s promise that when we visit the imprisoned, we visit the Lord himself. St. Lawrence assists one inmate at a time throughout his or her imprisonment and continuing after release into the community.
THE RESPECT LIFE COMMITTEE educates and informs the parish on the broad spectrum of human life issues about which the Church teaches.
Our parish AIDS MINISTRY collaborates with AID Gwinnett to provide compassionate service to parishioners and neighbors with AIDS, and to offer AIDS prevention information to the parish and community.
