The St. Lawrence Youth Ministry Life Teen program encompasses the themes and components for a Comprehensive Youth Ministry program as outlined in Renewing the Vision, A framework for Catholic Youth Ministry, as stated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Our goals:

  • To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
  • To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith Community.
  • To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

We meet weekly using the National Life Teen program on Sunday nights from 6:15-7:30pm following the 5pm Sunday night Mass.   Life Teen provides resources and faith experiences that are than tailored to fit the needs of the teens we serve at St. Lawrence to lead them closer to Christ.

In addition to our Sunday night program, we have widespread opportunities for teens to continue to grow in their faith life.  These opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • Wednesday night gospel study, open to all
    high school teens—6:15-7:30pm
  • Annual summer mission experience at
    Catholic Heart Workcamp
  • Monthly trips to the Homeless Shelter in the
    winter months
  • Fall and Winter retreats
  • Confirmation preparation (the Sacrament is
    celebrated in 10th grade)
  • Participation in the Hunger Walk in
    downtown Atlanta
  • Service opportunities year-round in the
    church community
  • Social Events

Registration is for the upcoming school year is done each spring.  We do continue to accept new additions to our program at anytime throughout the school year, and teens are always welcome to bring their friends to join us and see what we are all about at St. Lawrence.

  • Our confirmed juniors and seniors are not asked to pay the annual registration fee to continue to participate in the program.  As recognized “adults” of the church, it is our hope that they will continue to participate on a regular basis in the program.  We realize that their lives get busier, but we want them to remember that the church should still remain a priority in their lives.  However, we still need to have the registration form and health history form filled out on them.
